It is 8 km from Ponta Delgada (Rotunda de Belém) and 10 km from the county seat, the city of Ribeira Grande. To the north and west it faces the parishes of Calhetas and Fenais da Luz; to the south, with Fajã de Cima, São Roque and Livramento; and to the east, with Rabo de Peixe.
